Who we are

The Office for Women's Policy is a strategic policy unit in the Department of Family and Community Services, which develops policies to the benefit of women in NSW.

The Office for Women's Policy is the key advisor to the NSW Government on policies which impact directly on women. It also provides a valuable role in contributing to discussions on important social and economic issues relevant to women.

The Office for Women's Policy reports directly to the Minister for Women. It also reports to the Director General of the Department of Family and Community Services. Its initiatives are guided by the NSW Government's policy commitments in this area. These policy commitments have a particular focus on gender equity and social justice in the planning, development and delivery of programs and services in NSW.
