2013 Women of the Year Awards

The 2013 Women of the Year Awards were presented on the eve of International Women's Day 8 March 2013 at Parliament House. These Awards recognise the many achievements of women across NSW.

The Premiers' Award for Woman of the Year recognises inspirational women who have accomplished significant achievements in NSW

The People's Choice Community Hero Award is nominated and chosen by the NSW community. The Award recognises local heroes and volunteers who contribute to their local communities

The Local Women of the Year Award recognise women who have made wonderful contributions and achieved great things for their local communities.

Cathy Foley

Winner of 2013 Premier's Award for Woman of the Year

Dr Cathy Foley

Dr Cathy Foley is one Australia’s foremost scientists, leading the way for women in science and inspiring a generation of young girls to follow in her footsteps. Cathy is one of a handful of women to hold a very senior position in science. As Chief of the CSIRO’s Materials Science and Engineering division, she is responsible for around 900 people and a budget of more than $60 million.
