Right to Information (GIPA)

On 1 July 2010, the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPA Act) replaced the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act 1989. The Department of Family and Community Services (FACS) is committed to ensuring the public’s right to information meets the requirements of the GIPA Act and that we appropriately respond to other requests for information.

Access to FACS information may be considered through either formal or informal applications. This is currently managed by each FACS agency individually. For more information, please visit the FACS website.
